Gratitude in Miami, Anticipation for Mexico City

This past weekend at Dante’s HiFi in Miami reminded me why I carry records across oceans and cities. To the incredible team there, and to Alan and his family, thank you for nourishing Miami with substance, tradition, and a true respect for music. Spaces like Dante’s are rare, and they keep the culture alive.

I had the honor of playing a seven hour vinyl set from open to close, which gave me the freedom to move through all the worlds of music. To be able to play Miles Davis, followed by Leonard Bernstein conducting Ravel’s Bolero, then slide into disco funk and dub techno, and have it all not only accepted but deeply appreciated, is a gift. It shows the importance of places like Dante’s, where musical expression is encouraged to stretch and breathe.

Miami has shown me incredible support, and I feel grateful for the community that comes together there to listen and share in this journey.

Now I look ahead to my next live show in Mexico City at Sonic Jungle. Mexico City has a pulse unlike anywhere else. It is a city of contrasts, ancient and modern, chaotic and graceful, layered with history yet always reinventing itself. For me it is the most dynamic and inspiring city on earth. Every time I return, whether to wander its streets, share meals, or play music, I feel an unmistakable sense of home.
